Rami Fakhouri Selected for Bloomberg Law’s “They’ve Got Next: The 40 Under 40”
Goldman Ismail is thrilled to announce partner Rami Fakhouri is profiled in the 2025 edition of Bloomberg Law’s “They’ve Got Next: The 40 Under 40.”
According to Bloomberg Law, “The young lawyers in our 2025 class excel at client work at their law firms and companies, take on weighty leadership roles, and still make time for mentorship and pro bono work.”
Rami spoke with Bloomberg Law about his two recent major Zantac trial wins for GlaxoSmithKline, what he’s learned from his Goldman Ismail mentors, and how he views success as an attorney.
“Success to me means exemplifying a principle our firm was built on: collective success is individual success,” he says. “This means genuinely caring for and uplifting those around me, celebrating their wins, and delivering outstanding results for clients as a true team player.”
Rami, who leads the Pro Bono Committee at Goldman Ismail, describes his proudest moment as a lawyer as “leading a team that secured asylum in the United States for a deserving young Honduran woman.”
“When the judge granted our client asylum, she broke down in tears and told us we had saved her life,” he remembers. “That experience and seeing our client on track to obtain United States citizenship and resuming her education, reminds me nearly every day of the awesome power we have as lawyers. It inspires me to do my best work and stay focused on the end goal even (indeed, especially) in difficult circumstances.”
Rami also described the “most important lesson” he has learned as a lawyer: “slow down.” As Rami explained, “[i]n our profession, so many approach their roles in a reactive manner—answer that email immediately; don’t let opposing counsel have the last word; finish the to-do list ASAP. Against that backdrop, an attorney stands out when they think carefully before acting.” Thus, while efficiency is critical, “success comes when efficiency is tempered with deliberation.”
