Shaun focuses on litigating complex cases which often involve a range of scientific and technical subject matter. His experience spans numerous jurisdictions throughout the United States, particularly with handling patent-infringement, trade-secret, and commercial matters. He has worked with a variety of technologies, including mobile devices, optical systems, computer vision, cloud computing, networks, broadcast graphics, touchscreens, AI / machine learning, payment systems, lidar, radar, semiconductors, chemical products, and medical devices.
Shaun also brings a well-rounded perspective on intellectual-property strategy, which he gained as in-house counsel for a former Fortune 10 technology company prior to joining the firm. Shaun’s corporate training combined with litigation experience allow him to provide clients with strategic counseling relating to disputes, negotiations, licensing, corporate deals, and technology transfers. Shaun graduated summa cum laude from Georgia Tech with a degree in materials science and engineering. He earned his law degree from Georgetown Law, where he served as president of the student body.
Outside of his legal practice, Shaun is an active and committed leader in the community. Recognized both as a 40 Under 40 alumni by his alma mater and a 35 Under 35 Leader Making an Impact by the Chicago Scholars Foundation, Shaun works with various nonprofit and community organizations and frequently serves on charitable boards. He is also committed to advancing diversity and a more inclusive legal profession, serving as the firm's Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellow for 2023.
