Lesley Hamming represents clients in a wide variety of industries and technical areas in intellectual property and other technology-driven litigation. Lesley draws on her PhD in engineering to analyze complex subject matter and explain it to a court or client in a clear and compelling way. Her work has spanned technologies including computer-related technology, WiFi, e-commerce, big data, graphical user interfaces, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, advanced materials such as crystals, mechanical & electrical devices, and consumer goods. Lesley has represented clients in patent, trade dress, copyright, and contract disputes in multiple district courts, before the US Patent & Trademark Office, and at the International Trade Commission. She has also provided clients with pre-litigation strategic counseling regarding intellectual property disputes and patent portfolios.
Lesley serves on the Advisory Board for Northwestern University’s Mechanical Engineering Department. She is also an Auxiliary Board Member for the Center for Conflict Resolution, which provides free mediation services to the community as an alternative to court processes. The mediations relate to landlord-tenant disputes, evictions, foreclosures, family law, community-police disputes, and others.
Prior to her legal career, Lesley was a professional triathlete, competing on the USA National (U23) team in multiple Pan American races and World Championships.
