Jennie represents clients in the pharmaceutical, medical-device, and consumer-electronics fields, focusing on patent litigation. As a registered patent attorney, she draws on her experience with United States Patent Office proceedings to inform litigation strategy and to counsel clients working in crowded patent fields. Jennie’s experience spans the stages of litigation, including managing discovery efforts, working with technical experts to prepare reports, taking and defending depositions, and preparing witnesses for trial. Jennie has led briefing on successful dispositive motions and argued at Markman and Daubert hearings in federal district court. She also has served as amicus curiae counsel in the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

In her pro bono practice, Jennie leverages her scientific background to help her clients, including in a Death Row case involving forensic science and DNA-related issues.

Prior to joining Goldman Ismail, Jennie practiced with another leading national law firm and completed a federal district court clerkship. Jennie earned her B.S. in biochemistry summa cum laude from Creighton University and her J.D. summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania.

  • Wireless Communication Patent Litigation
    • US counsel for a Fortune 10 consumer electronics company in a patent-infringement case relating to Bluetooth pairing technology. The case is pending in Malaysia and is in the pretrial phase.
    • Represented a Fortune 10 consumer electronics company in a patent-infringement case relating to wireless technology in the Western District of Texas. Obtained a dismissal of all claims with prejudice.
    • Represented a Fortune 10 consumer electronics company in a patent-infringement action brought by Koss Corporation. The case involved five patents relating to wireless communication, headphone design, and operation technologies. After significant victories in dispositive motion practice, case settled favorably two days before trial was set to begin.
    Mobile Device Camera Lens Patent Litigation
    • Represents a Fortune 10 consumer electronics company in a patent-infringement and trade secret case relating to camera lenses pending in the District of Delaware. The team secured an early win on a motion to dismiss certain claims. The remaining portions of the case are at the claim construction phase.
    AML v. Stripe
    • Represents Stripe in a patent-infringement case relating to automated payment technology. The case is pending in the Western District of Texas and is at the pleadings stage.
    In re Zetia (Ezetimibe) Antitrust Litigation
    • Represented Merck in defending against claims that Merck’s settlement of a Zetia® Hatch-Waxman patent case violated federal and state antitrust laws resulting in billions of dollars in overcharge damages. Prepared fact and expert witnesses for trial testimony when case settled during jury selection.
